A no-case-submission should be based on evidence not court proceedings, Jacobs opposed Saraki's quest

The Senate president, Bukola Saraki has been facing trial at Code Of Conduct Tribual (CCT) since 2015.
However, yesterday, when the prosecution counsel,
Rotimi Jacobs (SAN) announced the
closure of case against Saraki, he told the CCT, of his intention to file a no-case-submission as announced by the prosecution counsel, in the charges levied against him by the federal government on false declaration of property.

Paul Erokoro, the senate President's counsel thereby inform tribunal that he would require a complete record of proceedings since 2015,that the case started, in order for Saraki to make his no-case-submission.

They were therefore opposed by Jacobs, the prosecution counsel that the quest of court proceedings before making a no-case-submission, should be evidence based not on court proceeding. He also opposed the two weeks interval from the date of receipt of court records by the defence counsel to file for the application of no-case-submission.
Mr. Danladi Umar, after hearing both side of the story, fixed 8th June for them to adopt the written submission of a no-case-submission by the defendant and served on the prosecutor.
