Yet another suicide news. A young lady identified as Patience Akpan said to be in her late 20's was reported to have committed suicide on Wednesday May 17, in the Ajuwon area of Lagos. The said lady was reported to have drank sniper insecticide for an unknown reason. It was gathered that, Patience left her father's house who happens to be a driver that afternoon and was later seen in another street in pain still having the snipper bottle in her hand. An eye witness present during the incident said, Patience was seen on Oni Street near Ajuwon, on the floor and was in pain. She was rushed to the clinic where she later gave up. She was said to have lived in that area with her parents about 12 years ago until  her parents separated, she has since then been with her mum, only for her to come back that Tuesday and committed suicide the next day. This happened not quite long after a student of the Lagos state polytechnic, Damilola also took her life drinking the same insecticid...

A final year student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU), Ayoola Ayorinde aka AYbillion was stabbed to death on Wednesday, 17 May while he was heading home from campus. The deceased was a father of a 4 month old child he had with his course mate. It was reported that, he was planning to submit his final year project when this awful incident happened. Report from IB9JA showed that, he was walking home with his brother, since he stayed off campus. His brother was walking ahead of him as he was pressing his phone, when two men came with a bike and stab him right on the chest and drove off. Ayoola tried removing the knife and tried chasing them, but he couldn’t go far. He fell and was rushed to the hospital, after attending to him, he stayed for another 4 hours, but later died. May his soul rest in peace.

Though sounds unbelievable, but still this 52 year old woman, Thembisile made it known at a social cohesion dialogue about virginity that, at her age she still attends Umkhosi woMhlanga that is, a ceremony for virgins. This south American woman proudly said she is still a virgin. Sharing her testimony, she said: “I began this journey when I was 14 years old. I get a lot of people criticising me for being a virgin and not having children. Some even tell me I will die a lonely woman. But that does not make me want to change my life.” Further adding that, she has neither kissed or slept with a man before. Claiming to be one of the most respected women in her society. From her words, it could be denoted that her reason for staying a virgin is because she heard her brother's friends saying bad things about the girls they had slept with, deciding not to be one of those girls. She concluded by encouraging ladies to stay a virgin until they marry!

Adun, the 20 year old daughter of late Moji Olaiya who died in Canada insists that, her mother's corpse should be brought back to Nigeria for burial. Following this, the deceased burial arrangement is currently causing unprecedented break in the family. Coupled with the fact that, the deceased was born into a Christian family but converted into a Muslim. This is making some certain members of her family to insist that she be interred today according to Muslim rites. meanwhile, burying her the same day will be expensive abroad. There is therefore no planned program for her burial now.

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara has made it known that, the house is working toward passing the #NotTooYoungToRun# bill for the purpose of bringing down the age requirement of candidates that want to run for electives offices, just to allow youths to contest for leadership post in the country. While speaking with the plenary session of the Nigerian Youth Parliament in Abuja yesterday, 17 May, Dogara said that as elected representatives, it is their responsibility to ensure that their constituents voices are heard especially in a country with a youth population of over 60%. Mr. Christopher Hobobo, a former Acting State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bayelsa State has been assassinated in his residence on the PDP road, Yenagoa, the state capital. He was allegedly stabbed to death by unknown assassins in the early hours of Wednesday, 17 May. Hobobo’s gate was forced open by the assailants before gaining access to his sitting room, without using gun in order not to attract neighbours, they allegedly stabbed him several times in the chest. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Amba Asuquo, who had visited the scene of the crime, assured the family members that the police would try their best to name out the people behind this act. The remains of late Christopher have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa. May his soul rest in peace!

The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, made it known that, the Presidency is to take a decision on who signs the 2017 Appropriation Bill into law whenever the document is transmitted to it for accent.
