Boko Haram again invade UNIMAID

Some suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers
have again invade the University of Maiduguri
(UNIMAID) main campus, where one security
guard was killed.
The sources made it known that, the man died due to
excessive bleeding from the blast.

The loud sound which came from the
explosion of the male suicide bomber, left three others
injured. This occurred at about
10:20pm on Sunday while residents of
Maiduguri were preparing to go to bed.

Dr Dani Mamman, the chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), spoke to
the Tribune Online on phone at about
midnight saying the first explosion that rented
the airspace took place at a security post
around the commercial area.

In addition, three other explosions and staccato-like
weapon firings were heard around Bama
Road, Mairi up to Fori axis between midnight
and the early hours of Monday, but it is
yet to be ascertained if it came from the radius of
the main campus.

An unknown source made it known that a
second blast may have taken place at
another security post by Sardauna hall with
causality especially yet unconfirmed.

The Police Public Relations Officer Victor Isuku, as
however, confirmed the death of the
university personnel in the first heavy
explosion that was heard in the city and assured that, more light would be shed on whether a second
suicide bomber sneaked into the campus early that morning.

Futhermore, at least three other suspected
Boko Haram suicide bombers may have died
around Zannari suburb where they got exploded.

Reports shows that, the said university has a permeable
unfenced land area of about 23 km radius being secured by unarmed security personnel.
