Latest news on the ongoing ASUU Strike

In respect to the ongoing ASUU strike which took off August 13 as a result of the federal government's failure to
honour aspects of past
agreements of it members alongside other things, the various university
branches of ASUU held special congresses across
the country over the ongoing
strike today.

The lecturers were said to have considered the latest offer(s) by the federal government which aimed at resolving the imbroglio.
Report shows that, the meetings were held to discuss whether
or not to accept the federal
government’s offer.
Meanwhile, the various branches were given three options by the national body to choose from at their deliberations, these include:
continue with the strike action, suspend the action or, positively review the federal government
proposal.

Moreover, after the deliberation, all the branches are
expected to submit their
respective reports to the
national body who will then take the final decision.
It was further gathered that, the union is expected to meet
with the government again
this week to further discuss on the strike.

Apparently, the various branch leaders have been asked not to talk to journalists on the strike.
