Ex-PDP chair, Mu’azu, linked to property where EFCC found N18bn cash
A former national chairman of the People’s
Democratic Party has been linked to a building
in Ikoyi where the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC) made a humongous
find of cash in hard currencies amounting to
about N18billion.
The EFCC had disclosed on Wednesday that it
found $43.4m, £27,800 and N23.2m in cash at a
residential building on the 7th Floor of a four –
bedroom apartment at Osborne Towers located
at 16, Osborne road Ikoyi, Lagos.
A search of the property on the internet showed
that it was constructed by Cappa And D’alberto
Plc, while Etco (Nigeria) Limited, an Electrical
and Mechanical Engineering Contracting firm
had carried out Electrical, ELV, Plumbing, Fire
Fighting and Air Conditioning work on the
property.
Eric listed Alhaji Adamu Muazu as its client on
the construction work carried out on the
property.
Mu’azu who was once declared wanted by the
EFCC, left the country right after his party lost
the 2015 presidential election, purportedly for a
medical trip.
His absence created a gap that was temporarily
filled by a national deputy chairman of the party
at the time, Uche Secondus.
Mu’azu has however denied ownership of the
said property, but is yet to provide an
explanation as to why he was listed as Etco’s
client for work carried out on the property.
