Leicester aim to defeat Atletico, while Bayern face elimination at Real Madrid (UCL Preview)
1. Leicester City v Atletico Madrid
Fans of Premier League club Leicester
City will know their fate tonight
whether their team would be able to
qualify for the semi-final of the 2017
UEFA Champions League as they host
Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
The English champions will look to
overcome a 1-0 defeat they suffered in
the first leg in Spain after Antoine
Griezmann's controversial penalty
condemned them to a defeat.
Leicester City will hope their captain
Wes Morgan return to the first squad
after missing his side's last six games
due to injury.
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy (L) and Atletico
forward Griezmann
report says that Atletico and
Leicester are meeting for the third time
in a European home/away tie after
facing each other in the first round of
the 1961/62 Cup Winners' Cup and
1997/98 UEFA Cup. The Spanish side
qualified on both previous occasions.
2. Real Madrid v Bayern Munich
The hope of Bayern Munich to reach the
semi-final of the 2017 UEFA Champions
League seems to have been decimated
in front of their faithfuls after losing
1-2 to Real Madrid in the first leg match
in Germany.
Real Madrid will be missing winger
Gareth Bale with Isco expected to
replace him while Pepe remains absent
with a broken rib.
Bayern Munich on the other hand have
doubts over the fitness of Jerome
Boateng and Javier Martinez, while
Robert Lewandowski and Mats
Hummels are also struggling with
shoulder and ankle injuries
respectively.
Leicester aim to defeat Atletico, while Bayern
face elimination at Real Madrid
The German champions have lost eight
of their last 10 away games against Real
Madrid in all competitions including the
last five. In fact, Bayern last beat Real
Madrid at the Bernabeu in May 2001
thanks to a goal by Giovane Elber which
ended 1-0.
