Bridge linking Oyo and Osun State collapses

Prior to the heavy downpour that happened yesterday, the bridge linking Iwo, in Osun State and Oyo, in
Oyo State was washed away.

The bridge broke down at the Idi-Iroko which has currently turned the journey of about 45 kilometres to
almost 80 kilometres as motorists now go
through Agoro, Lannite and kieseni road.

Honourable Akintayo Gafar Amere, the Honourable Representing Iwo Federal
Constituency at the National Assembly Abuja as at yesterday
visited the place to commiserate with the people. While the honourable was addressing the
people, he assured them that, he would bring the
attention of the relevant government agencies
to the plight of the people plying the road
which he described as Federal Road.

Meanwhile, some daring people living around the villages
now have to carry their various motorcycle to cross the water
and they said that it would not be easy to
travel almost thirty kilometres to get to their
destinations instead of just crossing the bridge.

Among some of the people on the entourage of honourable Amere are; Alhaji Gafar Alani
Rabiu, Alhaji Oyebamiji Yago, Alhaji Olambamiji,
Mr. F. A Aremu.

Man arrested by police after been caught with fresh human head and vagina in his jeep. (Photo)

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old man, known as Ajibade Rasheed with fresh human parts in his jeep, in Osogbo, capital of Osun State. The commissioner of Police of the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, made it known that, Ajibade was caught by policemen at Olu-Ode area, Osogbo. Parts found in his car include; A fresh head of a woman, intestine, lung, virgina, liver and a bottle containing blood. The car was with the registration no: LSD 987 DJ. Latest news on the ongoing ASUU Strike

In respect to the ongoing ASUU strike which took off August 13 as a result of the federal government's failure to honour aspects of past agreements of it members alongside other things, the various university branches of ASUU held special congresses across the country over the ongoing strike today. The lecturers were said to have considered the latest offer(s) by the federal government which aimed at resolving the imbroglio. Report shows that, the meetings were held to discuss whether or not to accept the federal government’s offer. Meanwhile, the various branches were given three options by the national body to choose from at their deliberations, these include: continue with the strike action, suspend the action or, positively review the federal government proposal.
