Bridge linking Oyo and Osun State collapses

Prior to the heavy downpour that happened yesterday, the bridge linking Iwo, in Osun State and Oyo, in
Oyo State was washed away.

The bridge broke down at the Idi-Iroko which has currently turned the journey of about 45 kilometres to
almost 80 kilometres as motorists now go
through Agoro, Lannite and kieseni road.

Honourable Akintayo Gafar Amere, the Honourable Representing Iwo Federal
Constituency at the National Assembly Abuja as at yesterday
visited the place to commiserate with the people. While the honourable was addressing the
people, he assured them that, he would bring the
attention of the relevant government agencies
to the plight of the people plying the road
which he described as Federal Road.

Meanwhile, some daring people living around the villages
now have to carry their various motorcycle to cross the water
and they said that it would not be easy to
travel almost thirty kilometres to get to their
destinations instead of just crossing the bridge.

Among some of the people on the entourage of honourable Amere are; Alhaji Gafar Alani
Rabiu, Alhaji Oyebamiji Yago, Alhaji Olambamiji,
Mr. F. A Aremu.

Man brutalizes daughter for going to neighbor's house to watch TV (photos)

A young girl identified simply as Esther, has been beaten mercilessly by her father because she went into a neighbour's room to watch television in Ibadan, Oyo state. According to Olagunju Adekunle who posted the brutalized picture of the young girl on Facebook, when the man was questioned as to why he beat up his daughter that way, his reasons were so disheartening. Single mum threatens to give her son away just to get herself a man

A Kenyan mother of one has courted controversy after asking God to take her son's life in order for her to get married. The woman lamented that all the potential men she ended up meeting ran away every time she mentioned that she is a single mum. Having neither a job nor family to run to, when the going got tough, the woman who said that she is often caught between a rock and a hard place, explained that Kenyan men only marry a woman who is single and has no kids. On Sunday, 9th July, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Mr Ademola Adeleke of the PDP as the winner of the Osun West Senatorial bye- election. The winner happens to be the younger brother of the late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke, who died earlier this year. Reports from The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) shows that, the election was held in 10 local government areas making up the district. Mr. Ademola Adeleke had 97, 480 votes to defeat a former senator, Mudashiru Hussein of the APC, who had 66, 116 votes. The result was announced in Iwo, the Osun West Senatorial headquarters, where Mr Baritor Kpagih, INEC Residential Electoral Commissioner for the bye-election, said Adeleke won nine out of the 10 local government areas where the election was held. Young man who committed suicide yesterday, Identified (PHOTOS)

The young man who committed suicide at FESTAC link bridge yesterday has been identified as Bayode Ahmad Lawal, a graduate of UNILORIN. The ordeal started from Mobil filling station where Bayo started lying down on the floor. He was his friends at this time. His friends beckoned him to stand up trying to find out what was wrong with him He stood up and then started walking fast, then started running towards the bridge. His friends tried to stop him, chasing him, before they could get hold of him, he had already jumped into the canal. Before this some individuals said it seems he had some psychological issues. Since the incident up till this time of writing, his body has not been found. Bayo left behind His mother, a single mother and his other siblings. BREAKING: Notorious Kidnapper, Evans varnishes, whereabout unknown.

Prior to the arrest and detention of Chukwuduneme Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans, Nigeria’s well known billionaire kidnapper, news on his case seems to start dying down which resulted in people's speculations that he’s escaped or probably dead. Report from Saturday Sun shows that, Evans is not dead as his family now fears but has been moved from the Lagos police command headquarters cell by about 30 heavily armed men at midnight few days ago to an undisclosed destination. It was further gathered from some senior police officers that he has been moved to Abuja. Meanwhile, since the last few days, there has been some silence on Evans case, where people tend to ask questions about his whereabout. Where is Evans?
